It is biologically meaningless, and culturally variable. Nothing just is a weed. Weeds are just plants that we don't want around. A corn plant in a bed of roses would be a weed. Jesus once joked about a man who mixed weed seeds in with his neighbors crop seeds. I think Jesus had a good sense of humor, even without a laugh track.
