Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The Creator(s) has read and understood Harlot’s mission and review criteria as outlined in the "About" and "For Creators" pages and believes this submission is well suited to this venue.
  2. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another publication for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  3. For textual submissions, the file is in one of the following file formats: Open Office (.sxw), rich text (.rtf), Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), or web (.html). Image, audio, and video files should be submitted in high quality formats to be modified for web publication. Graphics should be in .gif, .jpeg, or .png file formats; audio should be in .wav or .mp3 file formats; and video should be in .mpeg, .avi, or .mov file extensions.
  4. For textual files with embedded objects, all media, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate locations.
  5. Sources have been attributed consistently. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  6. Instructions for Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Creators who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Creators retain copyright, grant Harlot right of first publication, and simultaneously license the work under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Creators are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the Harlot's published version of the work with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this publication.
  3. Creators who wish to select a different Creative Commons license or place their work in the public domain should inform the Editors in the "Comment for the Editor" section during the submission stage. Likewise, creators who prefer traditional copyright should also inform the Editors.
