Congratulations to Nicole Warwick (@nicolewarwick)! She is the 2015 #DefineRhetoric Champion. Her remix, meme, morph(eus) of rhetoric and The Matrix was a really cool way to define, illustrate, and play with rhetoric. We appreciate that! Nicole, you'll be getting a sweet trophy and an amazon gift card plus alotta prestige (after all, you created some reality).
We also appreciate all the contributions from the other players this year. And there were a lot as you can see from the list of all the entries below. Take a look and be tickled, confused, and though-provoked by the fantastic defintions our contenders made. As you can see, some of them took the blue pill and some of them took the red pill.
First Place — What if I told you rhetoric is both the blue pill and the red pill. It is what creates reality and it is what allows you to see the realith that has been created. @nicolewarwick
Second Place — If rhetoric is a dance, it's the music, costumes, arena, and the bodies moving in and out of tension. @ciccamy
Third Place — As Burke put it, "Since 'morals are fists' and words are inherently moral, words are fists." Rhetoric, then, is a fistfight. @jannaKlos
Rhetoric is how knowledge becomes power. @LucasBrownNIC
Rhetoric! (n., pejorative) An accusation that employs the very tool it excoriates others for using. @K_Dobz
Rhetoric is what fills that dash between the date of your birth and the date of your death. @kemperpope
Rhetoric is the placement of "lol" at the end of every text when you never actually laugh. @DeShantaLenae
Rhetoric is the heart of communication that pumps the blood of society. @texrocks220
Thanks for playing! Lookin' forward to next year's batch of rheality!
