  1. That is intriguing. One of the questions I think about more often than is healthy is why people seek recognition for an act or creation when they otherwise remain anonymous (assuming, of course, that in this case their secrets are genuine and not invented)?

    It seems contradictory. How can someone be recognized and anonymous at the same time? What satisfaction do they get out of it? And what are the motivations?

  2. These are great questions. More: And why do secrets want to be told? Anonymously? This is about the control of discourse, and of audience, and it thus a great ‘rhetorical’ topic. Critical readings of these, individually or collectively would be fascinating…Who is the audience for a secret? What is the appeal of reading another’s anonymous secret?
